About Us
A Better Day Home Care is a charitable nonprofit organization established in 2023 on the principle that a person’s past social/economic or physical/mental hardships don’t define their bright future. We are a program that operates youth group home facilities throughout Miami-Dade and Broward County serving children ages 12 through 18. We’re also an organization that provides a range of services for persons with disabilities.

We are committed to helping people search for their GIFT in order to reach their optimal potential. In turn communities are improved and lives are enriched through productive community involvement. We strongly believe that personal growth and development is the key to our services; therefore, our focus is on assisting people in finding their voices and developing skills to discover their unique place in the community. This idea is reflected through the development and implementation of life plans that highlights each persons strengths, goals, and desires. Many steps are utilized in developing life plans, including evaluations completed by associated professionals; personal interviews with each person, family members, and key staff members; and direct observations. Additionally, we are committed to providing access to other people who need our services; allowing responsible future expansion of our program which may include smaller residential settings, expanded day supports, and employment and vocational supports.

■ Programs and Services
A Better Day Home Care is soon to launch their flagship group home for male youth in Miami-Dade County. This home offers a healthier alternative to institutional living and promotes community integration. The family-like environment provides security, plentiful nutritious meals, and high-quality education. Each resident will enjoy spacious personal quarters and the freedom to personalize their space. The home will meet ADA standards, including wheelchair accessibility, to cater for youngsters with physical and intellectual disabilities.
■ Vocational Rehabilitation
Collaborating with A Better Day Home Care, the joint federal-state Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) program helps individuals with disabilities prepare for, secure and sustain meaningful jobs. The VR program also supports students with disabilities in career exploration and readiness for adult life. We offer access to state-of-the-art apparel printing equipment to teach valuable trades, starting in high school and continuing through postsecondary education.
■ Supported Living
Independent living can be one of life’s greatest achievements, and assisting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities can be one of the life’s greatest rewards. A Better Day Home Care’s Supported Living program assists persons with disabilities in living independently and provides opportunities to help them shape the direction of their lives. Through the program, clients receive assistance with their personal finances, meal prep, and household chores among other things. The client acquires both adaptive and social skills that are highly relevant to independent living.

  • At A Better Day Home Care, our Foster Care Adoption Program works to provide permanency to children in foster care either under our guardianship or that of a tribal jurisdiction. We are actively seeking families that are open to accepting sibling groups, school-age children, and teenagers who are in need of loving homes. Our program is committed to providing children in care with a safe and stable environment, which can potentially last a lifetime through adoption..
  • Our hope is that every child in foster care will eventually return home to their birth family. Unfortunately, that’s not always possible. If a child is unable to safely return home, then that child may become eligible for adoption. As a trained foster parent, you can begin or grow your family by making a lasting commitment to a child in need of a loving home. We serve all sorts of families and will guide you through the entire adoption process.
  • Children end up in foster care through no fault of their own. Foster parents play a vital role in providing for their care and protection until things improve at home and they can return to their birth families.
